At 0h on 16 August 2017, in 15 provinces of group II officially switched off the local analogue TV channel and switched over to DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television transmission as planned by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

On July 12, 2017, in Ha Noi, The Authority of Radio Frequency Management (ARFM) and Ericsson Company in Viet Nam have jointly held the workshop on "5G and IoT accelerating digital Viet Nam towards Industry 4.0” and the first-ever 5G demonstration in Viet Nam. Memorandum on cooperation in the field of spectrum management between Viet Nam and Japan

On 14 September 2016, the important signing ceremony between the Ministry of Information and Communications - Viet Nam and the Ministry of Internal Affair and Communication - Japan was taken place in Ha Noi, Viet Nam. At the ceremony, Mr. Doan Quang Hoan, Director General of the Authority of Radio Frequency Management – Viet Nam and Mr. Jiro Akama, Vice Minister of Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication - Japan, had exchanged the Memorandum of bilateral cooperation between Viet Nam and Japan in the field of spectrum management.

On April 5, 2017, at the headquarter of The Authority of Radio Frequency Management (ARFM), the Council for Auction of 2,6 GHz band held a seminar on consulting telecommunication operators about the 2,6 GHz band auction and the third meeting of the Council. Mr. Doan Quang Hoan – Director general of ARFM, Chairman of the Auction Council presided over the seminar and meeting.
Viet Nam completed the first stage of the Scheme of Digitization Transmission and Broadcasting of Terrestrial TV

As of 15/8/2016 24:00, Analog Terrestrial TV channels in 4 cities directly under the Central Government including Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho and Hai Phong had absolutely ceased broadcasting, switched over to the Digital Terrestrial TV Technology–DVB-T2. Thus, along with Da Nang city that completely turned off the analog TV since 01/11/2015, so far Viet Nam has completed the first stage of the Scheme of Digitization Transmission and Broadcasting of Terrestrial TV.
