Viet Nam has more 15 provinces switched off analogue television

(rfd.gov.vn)- At 0h on 16 August 2017, in 15 provinces of group II officially switched off the local analogue TV channel and switched over to DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television transmission as planned by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

At 0h on 16 August 2017, in 15 provinces of Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Long An, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, An Giang, Tien Giang have switched off the local analog TV channels and officially switched over to DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television transmission as planned by the Ministry of Information and Communications. At present, analog TV channels just showed this message on screen for people to know and switch-over to digital terrestrial television.
As noted by ICTnews, the situation of analogue switching off in these local is very smooth. There is not yet negative feedback from people about not receiving digital television signal. Last night, on DVB-T2 forums, many people were awake waiting for moments of “the death” of analog TV and streaming livestream on social networks.
Previously, on 10 August 2017, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai signed official document sending to the People's Committee of provinces related to Group II and the telecommunications enterprises proposed that these units announced and delivered message about the plan of switching off analogue terrestrial television transmission on 15 August 2017.
Accordingly, implementation of the conclusions of the Head of the Steering Committee for the Viet Nam Scheme for Digitization of Terrestrial Television Broadcasting in Notice No. 135/TB-BTTTT dated June 21, 2017 of the Ministry of Information and Communications on the time of switching off analogue terrestrial television transmission in provinces of group II, Ministry of Information and Communications proposed the People's Committees of Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Long An , Ben Tre, Dong Thap, An Giang and Tien Giang to carry out the following tasks:
Provincial broadcasting stations continue to promote propaganda information on Digitization of Terrestrial Television, regularly reported by the inscription running below the screen with 4 contents as follows:
Time to stop analogue television channel broadcasting in the provinces mentioned above from 24 hours of 15/8/2017.
It is recommended that the television viewer equips a digital terrestrial television receiver or integrated digital-receiving TV to switch-over to digital terrestrial television receivers.

Time to stop broadcasting provincial television channels on the analogue terrestrial television from 24 hours of 15/8/2017.
